Sports Activity – Diving

Lombok has got some of the most amazing dive sites in the world. Not far from Kuta Sunset, Belongas Bay offers pristine reefs with a wide variety of marine life. Specifically, divers should not miss the two most famous dive sites, “The Magnet” and “The Cathedral”. Barracudas, tunas, mobula- and eagle rays and even hammerhead sharks are only a few examples of the existing abundance of species.

Hammerheads tend to school around the Magnet between end June and late October. The uniqueness of this dive site follows from the fact that this is one of only three places in the world where two types of hammerhead sharks can be seen: The Small Hammerhead Shark, which can be around three to four meters in length, and the Great Hammerhead Shark, which can be around four to six meters in length.

The water temperatures are pleasant, usually ranging from 26 °C – 28 °C.
